The reason Hollywood RPs get 2234567 applications a day and ones with a plot and biographies is instant gratification. It’s something that we, as a society, are dealing with. Everything is faster these days. We get text, calls, mails - everything in a short amount of time. That’s why people aren’t afraid of plotless RPs. Even if they don’t get the FC they want, they’ll come back for more because it really isn’t much work. Plots require reading. Some people prefer not to read much which confuses me a bit.
Then, there are the multi-para biographies. THEN, an in-character para sample. I was already used to this on Xanga but for some people, it’s a taunting task. They have to compete with other RPers. They have to - gasp! - wait a while to get accepted. It’s not something we can fix in a snap. Some people don’t want to hone their writing. They just want to play. That’s not a problem. The problem is that we only see them in RP tags. That’s why we are mad. They don’t want to be patient and wait. They’re too many at this point. I don’t know. We should make a new tag for RPs that have been well thought out. The “original” RP tags are just lies.
