The reason Hollywood RPs get 2234567 applications a day and ones with a plot and biographies is instant gratification. It’s something that we, as a society, are dealing with. Everything is faster these days. We get text, calls, mails - everything in a short amount of time. That’s why people aren’t afraid of plotless RPs. Even if they don’t get the FC they want, they’ll come back for more because it really isn’t much work. Plots require reading. Some people prefer not to read much which confuses me a bit.

Then, there are the multi-para biographies. THEN, an in-character para sample. I was already used to this on Xanga but for some people, it’s a taunting task. They have to compete with other RPers. They have to - gasp! - wait a while to get accepted. It’s not something we can fix in a snap. Some people don’t want to hone their writing. They just want to play. That’s not a problem. The problem is that we only see them in RP tags. That’s why we are mad. They don’t want to be patient and wait. They’re too many at this point. I don’t know. We should make a new tag for RPs that have been well thought out. The “original” RP tags are just lies.

Roleplay Lingo for noobs. 

• RP: Roleplay, is where two or more people pick a character from a movie, tv, book etc, or make up your own, and then make them interact. It's like a story I guess, but you can only control your character and you take it in turns to tell the story from your character's point of view, each time progressing the story further. Can either be done in pairs or in groups, and it usually has a genre and plot.
• OOC: "Out of Character." Pronounced, 'oh oh see' or simply read out aloud, out of character. It's when the person playing the character is talking, not the actual character. Most roleplayers know what ooc means, it's important to understand ooc to avoid bad misunderstandings
• IC: IC means in character. IC is basically the opposite of OOC. While OOC is you talking not as your character. IC is you being and talking like your character. Most of your posts, if not all will be in IC.
• FC: Face claim, face claim means what actor, animated character, etc... you want to use for your character's appearance. Also known as play-by.
• 1x1: Is an abbreviation for a one-on-one roleplay. That is a roleplay between just two people.
• Canon: If something is "canon" it means it's official. omething originally from a source. Events that happen with a TV show are “canon” events, and characters from that show are “canon” characters.
• OC: An original character is a made up character, so OC's are the opposite of canon characters.
